On assignment from Global Maritime Stavanger NGI performed the detailed geotechnical design of the bucket foundations for a jacket platform in the Bay of Campeche, Gulf of Mexico.
The main goal of the ASAM project is to explore and develop methodology supporting the vision of a future service providing national authorities with hind-cast and near real-time snow and avalanche information retrieved from Earth Observation data.
NGI has been commissioned to design solutions for cleaning up contaminated sediments in the Port of Trondheim and then to follow up on the work.
NGI was responsible for geotechnical design and environmental geotechnics for the construction of a four-lane highway, E6 Jaktøyen-Storler south of Trondheim in Mid Norway. The ground conditions were challenging with deep soft soil deposits above bedrock, and with large areas consisting of quick clay.
NGI has been responsible for the groundwork, responsible RIG (responsible consultant for geotechnical engineering) for the first part of the new Government Quarter in Oslo. NGI was sub-consultant to Rambøll from preliminary project to completed design and tender documentation for construction work.
The overall aims of the RAPSODI-project are to develop a framework for quantitative tsunami risk assessment and to design tsunami mitigation structures to improve resilience against tsunami impacts.
DONG Energy successfully installed the world's first offshore wind turbine foundation based on the Suction Bucket Jacket (SBJ) technology in August 2014. NGI was responsible for geotechnical design, instrumentation, and monitoring system.
Architecture and roadmap to manage multiple pressures on lagoons is a research project to develop methodologies to manage the multiple problems affecting lagoons in Europe. The project was funded by the The Seventh Framework Programme for research and technological development (FP7) of the European Commission.
"BegrensSkade" is a R&D project with the aim of limiting damage to buildings and constructions caused by ground conditions and foundation engineering work.
