Pillar 2: Quantifying and assessing risk

Pillar 2 focuses on methods for quantifying and assessing of disaster risk – investigating the exposure and vulnerability of people, buildings, and infrastructure to natural hazards in steep terrain.

Topics include

T2.1 - selection of risk evaluation criteria
T2.2 - state-of-the-art in qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methods
T2.3 - implementing dynamic risk assessments using real-time data
T2.4 - forecasting future risk profiles using climate and demographic projections.

The education package and activities in Pillar 2 will be hosted by IITB and IITR in India.
